Today we get to talk with the AMAZING Cathleen Daly from Discovering Daly. Cathleen is a brand consultant and blogger located in Phoenix. Cathleen is a gem and truly wonderful person to be around. So excited to finally have the opportunity to feature her here on the blog!
I love your blog, what made you begin that journey?
Thank you so much! My blog journey started in high school. I knew I wanted a place to share my passions, projects, ideas, and writings, and creating a blog just made perfect sense. I had no idea what I was doing though when I started, and I am still learning! However, through that journey, I created a personal website titled, “Discovering Daly.” It then grew into a digital personal brand where I share my life’s discoveries through writing, creating content, and collaborating with other creatives on my social media and website. Then, most recently, I grew Discovering Daly into a business where I partner with businesses as a blogger and work with a variety of clients on building their brands as a consultant.

Who is your ideal client?
I work with a variety of clients, primarily through brand consulting and blogging. Through growing my own personal brand, I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking help in discovering their unique brand offering. As a creative professional who has worked with and within a multitude of brands and businesses, I also enjoy the process of helping organizations create a holistic brand strategy that elevates their overall vision and mission.

In your business, what led you to specialize in brand management and consulting?
I believe in approaching life holistically as much as I believe in approaching business holistically. What do I mean by that? You need to get the inside right to get the outside right. Meaning, an organization’s internal operations and core values need to align with its overall vision/mission and external marketing strategy. If these do not align, there are conflicting values at play which ultimately makes it hard for their consumers to believe in the authenticity of their brand, product, service, etc. A company can have a great marketing campaign, but if the message they are sharing with the world is not reflected in the way they run their business, then I believe the consumer will sense the misalignment. Currently, my primary offerings are in brand consulting, speaking, and blogging. However, I do offer services in creative directing, social media management, copywriting, and project management on a limited basis.

Tell me about you, where you started, and what lights your fire?
I grew up in New Mexico, but now reside in Phoenix, Arizona. I define myself as a multi-passionate creative person who is in love with building, learning, and growing. I have two adorable and sassy cats, and I am obsessed with green chile. Ever since I was young, I have been a highly visual person who was inspired by anything that can capture my eye whether it be photography, architecture, words, fashion, movies, graphic design, you name it. As a people-person mixed with being highly introspective and strong in my faith, I am also deeply captivated by the stories, passions, and dreams of other people. All of these aspects combined, fuel my ever-growing zest for life. I am always up to something, and I’ve never been one to like to be put in a box which is why I am thankful that creating my personal brand and blog, Discovering Daly, provided a unique outlet for me to continue to grow in my creative freedom while perfectly capturing the consistent theme of discovery in my life. Plus, it was a fun play on my last name that also satisfied my affinity for words and using them cleverly.

What is next for Discovering Daly?
What I love about my brand is that it is ever-evolving. Discovering Daly has become a part of me both online and offline, and as I learn, change, and grow so does my brand. I do hope to be able to expand and explore new service offerings someday, but for now I am fully enjoying the process of my day-by-day discovery in my life and business. My biggest hope is that whoever connects with my brand is that they, too, are inspired to pursue the joy of discovery in their own lives.
